Heartfelt & emotional elopement in the Dolomites

T & A traveled all the way from Canada, and the moment they saw the first pictures of the Dolomites, they knew — this was where they wanted to get married.

It did not take long for them to realize something else as well: they wanted to share this unforgettable experience with their closest family and friends.

Elopements are often thought of as something for just the couple an no-one else, but that could not be further from the truth. Eloping is not about running away, it is about returning to what truly matters. The love between two people and the experiences that reflect who they are. And if that means having a small circle of loved ones along for the journey, then that is exactly how it should be.

T & A wanted to blend some traditional wedding elements into their elopement, creating a day that felt both intimate and meaningful. On this beautiful late summer day, they got ready separately, building up the anticipation for their first look. When that moment finally came, it was filled with pure emotion. You could see in their eyes just how much this day meant to them.

The Dolomites are home to some of the most spectacular mountain formations in all of the Alps, and it was easy to see why T & A had chosen this magical place. From their hotel, we set out together, taking a short gondola ride before stepping out into a world of rugged peaks and breathtaking views. Surrounded by nature at its most powerful, they took their time to breathe it all in. Every view, every moment, every heartbeat.

But the day held even more beauty. We had helped them organize a ceremony right there in the mountains, surrounded by their loved ones. The ceremony was led by T’s father, which made it even more personal and emotional. There was laughter, happy tears, and an overwhelming sense of joy and gratitude that filled the crisp mountain air. Everyone was simply present. Celebrating, feeling, and making memories together.

It was a day that perfectly reflected what elopements are all about: love, connection, and the freedom to celebrate in your own way.

T & A, we are so grateful that we could be part of this unforgettable adventure with you, and we hope our paths cross again someday.
